Mule Day is probably a misnomer for this all-day event in Washington, Georgia, which educates and entertains visitors on a real working Southern plantation complete with demonstrations of former customs and lifestyles, live entertainment, arts and crafts, tours of plantation buildings, and animal demonstrations and competition. Demonstrations include those involving candlemaking, shingle boards, syrup making, pottery, blacksmithing, hand sawn lumber, quilting, spinning and weaving, soap making, lard making, basketry, sheep dogs, and a whiskey still.
